Sources
The sources of the official Kalpa logos are kept on code.o.o
Colors
The official Kalpa Brand color is #25ac95
The Kalpa logos should only ever be colored Black, White, or the Kalpa Brand color.
Different Shades or Tints of #25ac95 can be used when it improves legibility or clarity of text or UI elements.
The Kalpa Brand color should be paired primarily with Black, or White.
Word Marks
Kalpa should be referred to in text using one of the following two forms:
- Kalpa
- Kalpa Desktop
"Kalpa Desktop" is recommended for use when addressing audiences who are less likely to already know about Kalpa. "Kalpa" is recommended for use when addressing audiences who are more likely to already know about Kalpa, such as Kalpa users.
References to Kalpa's upstreams, in the following forms (or similar) is acceptable:
- "Powered by Tumbleweed"
- "Derived from MicroOS"
- "Inspired by Aeon"
- "Member of the openSUSE Project"
Kalpa should not be used with any other prefix or suffix, such as:
- "Kalpa Linux" - the Linux kernel is traditionally a multi-role kernel used by Servers, Desktops, and other devices. This can cause confusion as Kalpa is focused on being a Desktop Operating System only.
- "openSUSE Kalpa" - Kalpa should NOT be referred to as "openSUSE Kalpa" out of respect for SUSE's request to reduce dilution of the SUSE brand
- "MicroOS KDE" or "MicroOS Desktop" - While Kalpa does take much of it's core development from MicroOS, This can cause confusion in support contexts, as they are not the same, and the focus on being a Desktop Operating System isn't often applicable to the Server usecases that MicroOS is developed for.
General Guidelines for Using the Kalpa Marks
The use of the Kalpa Marks generally follows the openSUSE Trademark Guidelines, just replacing the terms "openSUSE", "the openSUSE Marks" and "opensuse.org" with "Kalpa", "the Kalpa Marks", and "kalpadesktop.org" respectively.
However, the following additions/alterations apply specifically for the Kalpa Marks
Derivatives/Variants of Kalpa
Derivatives or Variants of Kalpa are considered to be equivalent to "Distributing Kalpa with Modifications". They must not use the Kalpa Marks, Logos, or Colors. That includes not using the term "Kalpa" in the name of the Derivative or Variant. They may combine their own name/trademark with one of the following Kalpa Mark tag-lines (or equivalent):
- "Inspired by Kalpa"
- "Derived from Kalpa"
- "Based on Kalpa"
